An energy treatment tool (2) has a probe (32) and a jaw (35). Biological tissue is grasped between the probe (32) and the jaw (35). When ultrasonic vibrations are transmitted by the probe (32), frictional heat is generated between the tissue and the probe (32), and the tissue is coagulated and cut at the same time. When high-frequency current flows to the tissue through the probe (32) and the jaw (35), the coagulation of the tissue is promoted. The jaw (35) has a cavity (63). Physiological saline solution delivered from a liquid delivery pipeline (86) to the cavity (63) through a connection tube (85) is discharged through openings (65A, 65B) and hole-shaped portions (66A, 66B) of the jaw (35). The ultrasonic vibrations transmitted by the probe (32) may also crush and emulsify the tissue. The crushed and emulsified tissue is suctioned through a suctioning pipeline (71) of the probe (32). |
