MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE PACKAGING CARTONS

A modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) carton is provided. The carton includes: a base; a first side wall extending from the base; a second side wall extending from the base, the second sidewall adjacent to and partially overlapping the first side wall, the overlapped portion of the first sidewall defining a first sealing face and the overlapped portion of the second sidewall defining a second sealing face; a primary adhesive strip sealing the first sealing face and the second sealing face together; wherein the primary adhesive strip vertically spans at least a height of the carton, and wherein the primary adhesive strip is spaced a predetermined distance from a distal edge of either one of the first sealing face or the second sealing face facing an interior of the carton. Methods of manufacturing the MAP carton are also provided.
