Provided is a high-strength, heat-resistant, and high-performance tubular body comprising a ceramic/ceramic composite material in which ceramic fibers are used as a braided body, said tubular body having fewer defects owing to bending of the fiber. Also provided is a method for manufacturing said tubular body. The tubular body (100) comprises a substrate and a CVD ceramic layer (3) covering the surface of the substrate, the substrate comprising a cylindrical braided body (10) made of ceramic fibers (1), and a ceramic sintered body layer (2) packed between the ceramic fibers (1). A method for manufacturing the tubular body (100), comprising a weaving step for weaving the ceramic fibers (1) and manufacturing the cylindrical braided body (10), a substrate production step for applying a ceramic precursor onto the braided body (10) and then sintering the assembly to seal the spacing between threads in the braided body (10), and a CVD step for covering the substrate with a CVD ceramic layer (3) and producing the tubular body (100). |
