PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device low in power consumption, having easy manufacturing process, and applicable for increasing definition and upsizing of a substrate.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device includes: a layer having light-shielding property to visible light; a conductive layer that partly overlaps with the layer having the light-shielding property to the visible light; a color filter layer that has an opening over the layer having the light-shielding property to the visible light; a first electrode layer that is connected to the conductive layer through the opening over the color filter layer and has translucency to the visible light; an insulating partition over the first electrode layer overlapping with the opening; a layer containing an organic compound over the first electrode layer and the partition; and a second electrode layer over the layer containing the organic compound. The layer containing the organic compound comprises: a layer containing a donor substance and an acceptor substance; and a layer containing a luminescent organic compound.
