摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar system capable of calculating a precise position of a rear end part of a preceding vehicle even when the difference in distance between own vehicle and the preceding vehicle gets too small to detect the rear end part of the preceding vehicle.SOLUTION: The radar system receives a reflection wave from a target which exists within a transmission range of a transmission wave and calculates target data relevant to the target. The radar system calculates first target data relevant to the rear end part of the vehicle as the target existing in the transmission range and second target data relevant to a part other than the rear end part of the vehicle. The radar system calculates the difference of distance between the first target data and the second target data. When the first target data is not calculated, the radar system predicts the position in the first target data by using the difference of distance. With this, the radar system predicts a precise position in the target data relevant to the rear end part of the preceding vehicle which actually exists but fails to be calculated.
