A rotor 10 of an electric motor made by combining a resin magnet part 5, which is formed of a thermoplastic resin 3 containing a ferrite, and a revolving shaft 6 includes a magnetic part 1 for position detection formed integrally with one end face 5a of the resin magnet part 5 by means of the thermoplastic resin 3 injected from the inner-diameter side of the resin magnet part 5 towards the end face 5a. Because the position of the rotor 10 can be detected by the magnetic part 1 without use of a position-detecting magnet, the cost can be reduced while still maintaining the accuracy at which the position of the rotor 10 is detected.
