PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for detecting grip of a portable device by a hand.SOLUTION: A device for detecting a portable device gripped by a hand H has at least one transmission electrode SE capable of discharging AC electric field 20, and at least one reception electrode EE to which the AC electric field 20 can be partially coupled. When the portable device is gripped by the hand H, the at least one transmission electrode SE and the at least one reception electrode EE are arranged on the portable device so that each of them is at least partially covered by the hand H. When the portable device is gripped by the hand H, a first part of the AC electric field 20 discharged by the transmission electrode SE can be supplied to the reception electrode EE through the hand H. |
