发明名称 AMPLIFIER CIRCUITRY FOR ENVELOPE MODULATORS, ENVELOPE MODULATORS INCORPORATING SAID AMPLIFIER CIRCUITRY AND METHOD OF MODULATING A SIGNAL ENVELOPE
摘要 Amplifier circuitry for an envelope modulator comprising: a plurality of amplifiers for driving a load, each amplifier receiving an input representing an envelope of a signal to be amplified, and one or more charge storage devices coupled to one or more of said plurality of amplifiers. The plurality of amplifiers and charge storage device(s) receive a supply voltage V+ and the charge storage device(s) are charged to the supply voltage V+ initially. The plurality of amplifiers are arranged so that the output of a second one of said plurality of amplifiers is connected to one of the charge storage devices, which is in turn connected to a first one of said amplifiers for supplying a charge to the first amplifier. By this configuration, an increase in the output voltage of the second amplifier causes the charge supplied to the first amplifier to increase above the supply voltage V+ such that the output voltage of the load driven by the amplifier circuitry is increased above the supply voltage V+.
