PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet embedded electric motor capable of achieving a high torque while preventing reduction of magnetic flux amount and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: The permanent magnet embedded electric motor is constituted of a stator which includes a stator core wound with a winding and a rotor which is rotatably disposed being interposed by a gap from the inner peripheral surface of the stator core. The rotor includes: a rotor core which is formed of plural laminated steel plates and which include plural magnet embedding holes and plural permanent magnets which are stored and held in the magnet embedding holes. The thickness of a plate of a bridge part constituted of an end part of the magnet embedding hole and the circumference of the rotor core and the thickness of a plate of a thin wall junction which connects the bridge parts which is formed between neighboring magnet embedding holes are thinner than the thickness of the steel plate.
