When a vehicle dynamo functions as a power generator and the rotation speed of the vehicle dynamo is at or below a prescribed value, the present invention controls the field current flowing through a field coil by using a field current control means, conducts a PWM-controlled armature current through an armature coil by using an armature current control means, and as a result, generates power by PWM control. When the rotation speed of the vehicle dynamo exceeds the prescribed value, the present invention generates power by controlling the field current flowing through the field coil by using the field current control means. When transitioning from power generation by PWM control to power generation by field current control and/or when transitioning from power generation by field current control to power generation by PWM control, the present invention operates by an overmodulated PWM control configured in a manner such that the percent modulation from PWM control is at or above a prescribed value. |
