Provided are a method for manufacturing a superhydrophobic titanium structure and the superhydrophobic titanium structure manufactured thereby. The method for manufacturing the superhydrophobic titanium structure includes the steps of: preparing a high purity titanium having purity of 90% or more; etching the surface of the high purity titanium first by immersing the high purity titanium into a sulfuric acid solution; etching the surface of the high purity titanium secondly by immersing the first-etched high purity titanium into a sodium hydroxide solution; annealing the secondly-etched high purity titanium; and drying the annealed high purity titanium in vacuum. The first-etching step is repeated at least two times. Therefore, the method of the present invention reduces manufacturing costs and increases durability when compared to a prior method for manufacturing a superhydrophobic titanium surface, and can facilitate large scaling of various shapes and processes, by using solution type etching. |
