The present invention relates to a symbol detection method used in a space modulation system. The method includes the following steps: detecting an activated transmission antenna among multiple transmission antennas; and detecting a symbol of a received signal through a reception antenna corresponding to the activated transmission antenna. With the configuration to compare maximum and minimum values of the symbol gradually in a symbol detection process regarding a transmittable antenna to narrow a comparison section, and to compare values in the shortest distance in terms of constellation in the final comparison step set in advance to finally detect the symbol, an optimal error rate condition can be reached without executing a calculation on all transmittable antenna signals and symbols. |
