The present invention relates to a watch-type electronic device which comprises: a short-distance communications module which transmits and receives pairing data by being activated when approaching to an external device; a sensing portion which senses a motion of a user; and a control portion which determines the motion of the user based on a detection value of the sensing portion after performing a pairing operation with the external electronic device in accordance with the pairing data, and controls transmitting and receiving the data with the external electronic device by entering a data sharing mode set in the corresponding motion of the user based on a determination result. Accordingly, the watch-type electronic device can easily control a sharing function such as verification, pairing, data transmission, etc. between electronic devices by using a gesture of the user.
