<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus capable of efficiently cleaning the interior of a paint storage part regardless of a type of the paint, and to provide a coating method.SOLUTION: An electrostatic coating apparatus 1 comprises: a paint supply source such as a paint tank and a color change valve mechanism 20; a coating gun 60; and a paint storage apparatus 10 which is provided between the paint supply source and the coating gun 60. The paint storage apparatus 10 includes: a cylinder 11; and a piston 12 which may slide in the cylinder 11. The electrostatic coating apparatus 1 includes a displacement mechanism 17 which displaces a position of a tip surface 12a of the piston 12 relative to a piston body 120 thereby displacing the position of the tip surface 12a of the piston 12 relative to the cylinder 11 when a cleaning fluid W is poured into a paint storage part 14 formed between the cylinder 11 and the tip surface 12a of the piston 12 and a pressure in the paint storage part 14 exceeds a predetermined constant supply pressure of a fluid F.</p> |
