The beam (10) has a metal profile (12) i.e. steel profile, and an opening for passage and/or access of an attachment element (30), which is inserted into a jamb region of a door opening in a brickwork. The opening includes a circular edge arranged in a recess for completely receiving a cover of a sealing plug (40) for the opening. The recess is introduced in a side directed away from the brickwork. An attachment region is provided at the edge of the recess and is engaged behind another opening. The cover forms a deep plane to a jamb surface (17) of the beam.
