<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nozzle for a vacuum cleaner capable of preferably combing out fur or hair attached to a carpet, futon or the like with a light force without damaging the carpet or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A long projection group 16 comprising a plurality of long projections 15, and a short projection group 18 comprising a plurality of short projections 17 are provided near a suction port 14 of the nozzle body 11. Each of the projections 15, 17 is comprised of a flexible material. The long projection group 16 combs out the fur or hair stuck into a deep part of the carpet C while sagging, and the short projection group 18 combs out the fur or hair on a surface part of the carpet C. Thus, not only the fur or hair attached to the carpet C can be effectively scraped up without damaging the carpet C, but also the resistance between the short projection group 18 and the carpet C can be reduced since the short projection group 18 combs as if it rubs the surface part of the carpet C.
