<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sizing agent for a carbon fiber, which has superior statical stability including properties of hardly changing viscosity with age, and can be deposited on a carbon fiber bundle as uniformly as possible when the carbon fiber bundle is impregnated with the sizing agent, and to provide the carbon fiber bundle obtained by using the sizing agent. <P>SOLUTION: The sizing agent for the carbon fiber contains an aqueous medium and polyamide-based elastomer dispersed in the aqueous medium.
