<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of reducing power consumption, while maintaining cooling capability in a predetermined time zone, with a simple constitution without separately providing a cold storage chamber. <P>SOLUTION: The refrigerator includes: one or a plurality of freezing chambers 8 which are constituted by partitioning the internal space of a box 2 by a partition wall and each have a cold storage material 110 inside; and a control circuit which controls cooling operation based upon a detected value of a temperature detection device. The control circuit selectively performs: normal operation in which cooling operation is carried out so that the temperature in the freezing chamber 8 reaches a predetermined first temperature (-18°C); and cold storage operation in which the cooling operation is performed so that the temperature in the freezing chamber reaches a second temperature (-25°C) lower than the first temperature (-18°C). The cold storage material 110 is made of a latent heat cold storage material which has a solidification point lower than the first temperature (-18°C) and higher than the second temperature (-25°C), and stores latent heat by phase change as cold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
