A wrapped yarn is formed by feeding into a break-spinning chamber a core yarn and wrapping the yarn spun in the chamber about the core yarn. The chamber has an upstanding hollow neck about which a driving bell is disposed and through which a fixed feed duct for the core yarn extends. Preferably the internal diameter of the duct is the same as the diameter of the core yarn. The wrapped yarn is withdrawn through a duct disposed opposite to the feed duct, and is wound on a package driven by a traversing roll.- The core yarn may be a filamentary yarn, a yarn spun conventionally or by a break-spinning process, wire, or rubber. |
