The present invention relates to a nosedive preventing airbag apparatus which comprises: a wheel guard mounted to surround a tire on a vehicle body; and an airbag module mounted on the vehicle body to push a part of the wheel guard toward the tire when a cushion expands on the top of the wheel guard. A part of the wheel guard is incised by the unfolding power of the cushion, and the incised part of the wheel guard supports the vehicle body in between the tire and the cushion to prevent interference by the rotation of the tire to the cushion fully opened. During a nosedive, where the front side of a vehicle sinks by sudden braking, the occurrence of the nosedive is prevented by pushing to support toward the airbag cushion, a part of the wheel guard, and the tire. Since the nosedive does not occur, the vehicle comes to collide with a safety device when it collides with a following vehicle, and injuries to the passenger can be reduced. As the pitch of the nosedive is reduced, damage can be minimized when vehicles collide. |
