PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger for vehicle which outputs a high voltage of an AC power supply, only when it is connected normally with a vehicle.SOLUTION: The charger for vehicle includes power supply terminals 1, 2, a ground terminal 3, a proximity terminal 5, a switch 6(S2) having one end connected with a high voltage AC power supply 30 and the other end connected with the power supply terminals 1, 2, a control circuit 7 for controlling the switch 6 on/off, a measurement circuit 8 for measuring the voltage of the proximity terminal 5 and outputting the voltage thus measured to the control circuit 7, a resistor 9(Rx) having one end connected with a low voltage DC power supply, and a switch 10 having one end connected with the other end of the resistor 9 and the other end connected with the proximity terminal 5. Upon receiving a charge start request for a vehicle, the control circuit 7 turns the switch 10 on, and turns the switch 6 on only when the voltage of the proximity terminal 5 is larger than a predetermined lower limit and smaller than a predetermined upper limit. |
