PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a catalyst for synthesizing methanol, the activity of which catalyst is lowered by a slighter degree, even if carbon dioxide, water or the like coexists in a gaseous raw material for synthesizing methanol, and is made higher, when compared with the widely-known catalyst for synthesizing methanol at low temperature in a liquid phase, and to provide a method for producing methanol in the liquid phase by using the catalyst produced by the production method.SOLUTION: In the method for producing a catalyst for synthesizing methanol, the catalyst which is used when methanol is synthesized via a formate from the gaseous raw material containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of an alcohol solvent and contains copper, is produced by a sol-gel auto-combustion method. |
