<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder transport pipe strainer for removing foreign matters, which enabling efficient screening with a minimum pressure loss. <P>SOLUTION: A powder transport pipe strainer 1 is used for transporting the mixture of powder and transport gas by a transport pipe 2 includes: an outer cylindrical body 5 inserted in the middle of the transport pipe 2, and having an inlet 3 formed at one end part and an outlet 4 formed at the other end part; a basket type screen 6 disposed in the outer cylindrical body 5; and a shaft 7 mounted in the screen 6. The inlet 3 is connected in the tangent direction of the outer cylindrical body 5. The axis direction of the inlet 3 is orthogonal to the axis direction of the shaft 7.
