A desensitizing bath for use in the process of Specification 1, 064,105 comprises an alkaline aqueous solution containing between 0À1 and 0À5 gms/litre of a 2, 2'-azo pyridine e. g. 2, 2'- azopyridine itself, 5-chloro-2, 2'-azopyridine or carboxyl or sulpho substituted 2, 2'-azopyridines and sufficient added material e. g. 2-diethylaminoethanol and sodium bicarbonate to raise the PH above that due to the presence of the 2, 2'-azopyridine alone. The solution may contain a silver halide developing agent and tetrasodium E. D. T. A.
