PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinylon fiber for resin reinforcement which is suppressed in aggregation of fiber and fiber floating in a molding of a resin composition blended with it and is excellent in impact resistance of the molding.SOLUTION: A vinylon fiber for resin reinforcement has an enveloping layer comprising polyurethane resin (A) having isocyanate group terminals and a propylene-maleic acid copolymer (B) in a mass ratio of 100/0 to 80/20, on the surface of a vinylon fiber. The mass ratio of the vinylon fiber and the enveloping layer is 99/1-80/20.
