PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element substrate which inhibits thickening of a liquid and thereby secures good discharge characteristics.SOLUTION: An element substrate 2 includes: a discharge port 5 which discharges a liquid; an energy generating element 7 which generates energy for discharging the liquid from the discharge port 5; an action chamber 8 for enabling the energy of the energy generating element 7 to act on the liquid; and a heating element 15 which includes at least two heating surfaces exposed to the liquid in the action chamber 8 and is disposed in the action chamber 8. The element substrate 2 further includes a substrate 16 on which a support port 13 for supplying the liquid to the action chamber 8 is formed. The heating element 15 may be disposed so that the heating surface is spaced away from the substrate 16. |
