A diaphragm type pump is provided to function as both of a water pump and an air pump or only as the air pump and to retain a constant level of a mixture ratio between fluid and air without additional control. The diaphragm type pump comprises: a body housing provided with a rolling plate for vertically moving by rotating using the power of a drive motor; a diaphragm having a plurality of compression chambers for pumping fluid or air by repeating compression and expansion with the vertical movement of the rolling plate; an air port formed with a plurality of connection holes provided with an opening/closing valve penetrated vertically to introduce fluid or air into the compression chambers; a cover body having separate intake chambers connected by the connection hole in a space to a surface facing the air port by covering the lower end of the air port, wherein a fluid inlet pipe allowing the introduction of fluid is connected to some intake chambers among the intake chambers and an air inlet pipe allowing the introduction of air is connected to the remaining intake chambers; a backflow prevention member provided in the air inlet pipe to prevent fluid or air flowing backward from the intake chambers by flexibly opening and closing the flow passage; and a fluid outlet part guiding the discharge of the fluid or air pumped by each compression chamber. |
