PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent transfer unevenness due to the change in moisture content in a recording sheet during duplex printing.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has a duplex printing function, and is configured to apply transfer voltage from an image carrier with an unfixed image formed thereon, when a recording sheet conveyed passes through a transfer position, to electrostatically transfer the unfixed image, and to thermally fix the unfixed image by allowing the sheet to pass through a fixing position with a heating rotating body. During duplex printing, the image forming apparatus acquires an index value indicating moisture content in positions in a paper-passing direction of the recording sheet after the unfixed image electrostatically transferred on a first surface of the recording sheet is thermally fixed (S805), and controls the transfer voltage to be applied in electrostatically transferring the unfixed image to a second surface of the recording sheet, so that an absolute value thereof may be larger as the moisture content indicated by the index value in each of the positions is less (S809). |
