PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means to transmit information unique to a phantom to a subject information acquisition device without using a dedicated reading device.SOLUTION: A phantom used for calibrating a subject information acquisition device that irradiates light to a subject and acquires characteristic information on the inside of the subject based on an acoustic wave propagated from the subject includes a base material 11, an absorber 12 disposed inside the base material, and information holding means 13 in which information unique to the phantom is held.
