PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of prior art that precise detection of flicker frequency is impossible, when shooting a scene where unexpected subject environment change, e.g., crossing over a subject, occurs, or a subject having conditions, e.g., brightness, changing in a short period.SOLUTION: An imaging device has a first photometric means, a second photometric means, and a processing circuit for processing the output thereof. The first photometric means performs photometry continuously a plurality of times, at a frame rate equal to the common multiple of a plurality of frequencies predicted previously as the flicker frequency of a light source. The second photometric means is attached to a position different from the first photometric means, performs photometry continuously a plurality of times, detects the flicker frequency and phase of a light source, from the photometric results obtained from respective frames, and determines the detection result from the first or second photometric means, closer to the commercial power supply frequency, as the flicker frequency of a light source. |
