PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission element that can achieve light of high intensity.SOLUTION: A light emission element 1 has a light emitter 3 for emitting excitation light, a color converter 7 which is provided at the light emission side of the light emitter 3, contains fluorescence material for generating fluorescent light upon irradiation of the excitation light and emits fluorescent light from the fluorescence material to convert the color of light emitted from the light emitter, and a dielectric layer 6 which is provided between the light emitter 3 and the color converter 7 and comprises a dielectric medium 9 containing plural metal nano particles 6 which develops a surface plasmon phenomenon. The average distance from a surface of the color converter 7 which is contact in the dielectric layer 6 till the metal nano particles 5 existing in the dielectric layer 6 is not more than the average diameter of the metal nano particles 5. |
