PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt continuously variable transmission capable of suppressing gear noise generated from a case and improving the quietness of a vehicle as compared with conventional techniques.SOLUTION: A first contact area S1a indirect contact with a rear cover 70 via a first shim 96 is provided on an opposite side of an annular side surface 74d of an outer circumferential ring 74a of a first bearing 74 to a secondary shaft 60, and a first noncontact area N1a is provided by a gap G1 formed between the side surface 74d and the rear cover 70 on a side of the annular side surface 74d of the outer circumferential ring 74a of the first bearing 70 near the secondary shaft 60. Owing to this, the gap G1 is formed in a generation region of vibration that is main gear noise generated in the rear cover 70 in a path in a thrust direction in which main gear noise generated in the rear cover 70 is transmitted in a primary shaft 56, so that the vibration transmitted from gears an advance-reverse switching mechanism 26 and gears of a gear mechanism 28 to a rear case 70 in the thrust direction is suppressed. |
