PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To activate a communication opposite device while reducing processing until communication is started.SOLUTION: A communication device detects a communication opposite device and transmits a first signal. If the opposite device is detected but a response to the transmitted first signal from the opposite device is not received, the communication device transmits a second signal to shift the opposite device from a power saving first state to a communication-enabled second state. The communication device and the opposite device communicate using the first signal.
