PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing glass molding and a method for producing glass molding capable of producing glass moldings with favorable appearance.SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing glass molding produces a glass mold with a noncircular plan view. The apparatus for producing glass molding comprises: a lower mold 21; an upper mold 31 for rough pressure forming which deforms the surface of molten glass; and an upper mold 41 for production pressure forming which pressure-forms the surface of the molten glass deformed by the upper mold 31 for rough pressure forming. The upper mold 31 for rough pressure forming and the upper mold 41 for production pressure forming include a recessed part 32 and a recessed part 42, respectively. The opening surface 34 of the recessed part 32 of the upper mold 31 for rough pressure forming corresponds in shape to the opening surface of the recessed part 42 of the upper mold 41 for production pressure forming, and has smaller outer dimensions than the opening surface of the recessed part 42. The recessed part 32 curves from the circumference 37 of the bottom part 36 to the bottom part 36 such that the upper mold 31 for rough pressure forming comes closer to the lower mold 21 in a facing direction, and consequently has a step part 38 to provide a step between the opening surface 34 and the bottom part 36. |
