A cavity spacer device, the device comprising: a body having a bore extending therethrough; a threaded flange coupled to one end of the body; a projection coupled to the threaded flange; a first catheter disposed at least partially within the bore; and, a self-sealing balloon member removably and fluidly coupled on one end of the first catheter, the balloon member having an elliptical shape and having a tube portion extending from one side, the tube portion sized to receive the first catheter and having a length sized to extend through a patient insertion tract, wherein the balloon member is configured to move from a first position coupled to the first catheter to a second position removed from the first catheter when the balloon is positioned within a patient, wherein the self-sealing balloon is configured in operation to remain at pressure upon removal of the first catheter and the application of an external force on the tube portion by an operator.
