PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of emulsion having a low viscosity and excellent handleability and coating workability, even in the case of oil-in-water type emulsion having a heightened content ratio of a PVA resin contained as protective colloid.SOLUTION: A production method of emulsion includes a step for performing a wet-type disintegration treatment of aqueous emulsion (first emulsion) having a polyvinyl alcohol resin and a polymer of a vinyl monomer, and the content of the polyvinyl alcohol resin to the 100 pts.wt. polymer in the first emulsion is 5.5 pts.wt. or more.
