PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical sound generator capable of generating a sound similar to an actual stringed instrument sound by performing an alternate picking method.SOLUTION: A down waveform sound generated by down picking of a string and an up waveform sound generated by up picking of the string are previously stored in a waveform memory 20. Whenever an event for commanding a pronunciation occur, a CPU 15 determines whether the present event is an alternate picking on the basis of the relationship between the present event and the previous event. When it is determined to be the alternate picking, the down waveform sound and up waveform sound are alternately generated. |
