PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater having excellent energy efficiency while preventing hot water from running out.SOLUTION: A water heater includes: a hot water storage tank 1; a heat source 2 for heating hot water; a hot water supply path 20 in which the hot water flows to a hot water supply terminal 21; and a control device 9 for executing a heating operation for heating the hot water in the hot water storage tank 1 by operating the heat source 2. The control device 9 starts the heating operation in the case where a hot water amount in the hot water storage tank 1 becomes equal to or less than a first starting hot water amount, and finishes the heating operation in the case where the hot water amount in the hot water storage tank 1 becomes equal to or greater than a first stopping hot water amount. The control device 9 has a setting unit 7 for setting a plurality of time periods in a day. The setting unit 7 sets a first time period T1, and a second time period T2 in which start time and finish time are later than those in the first time period T1, and in which a use amount of hot water supply per unit time is larger than that in the first time period T1. In the case where there is hot water supply in the first time period T1, the control device 9 changes the hot water amount of starting the heating operation in the second time period T2 into a second starting hot water amount which is larger than the first starting hot water amount. |
