PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens having a wide angle of view with a high magnification and having a small F value at a telephoto end, and an imaging apparatus including such zoom lens.SOLUTION: A zoom lens comprises, arranged in order from an object side: a positive first lens group G1; a negative second lens group G2; a diaphragm St; a positive third lens group G3; a negative fourth lens group G4; and a positive fifth lens group G5. The first to fourth lenses (G1-G4) move during zooming from a wide angle end to a telephoto end so that a space between the first lens group G1 and the second lens group G2 consistently increases and a space between the second lens group G2 and the third lens group G3 consistently decreases. The third lens group G3 has at least a positive lens A, a positive lens B, a negative lens C, and a positive lens D disposed closest to an image side, which are arranged in order from the object side. Abbe numbers with respect to d-lines of a lens A and a lens D are respectively represented as &ngr;dA, &ngr;dD, and a conditional expression (1): 25<&ngr;dD-&ngr;dA<70 is satisfied. |
