PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that prevents the opening of the overlapping part formed by overlapping side ends of an encapsulation sheet surrounding an absorber to each other and facilitates liquid diffusion.SOLUTION: An absorbent article is configured such that an absorber 4 surrounded with an encapsulation sheet 5 is interposed between a liquid-permeable surface sheet 3 and a back side sheet 2, and is an incontinence pad 1 with symmetric embossments 10, 10 formed on the surface side of the liquid-permeable surface sheet 3. An overlapping part 9 overlapping both sides of the encapsulation sheet 5 to each other is provided in the longitudinal direction of the surface side of the absorber 4. Also, one embossment 10 among the symmetric embossments 10, 10 is configured such that the longitudinal length overlapped with the overlapping part 9 is imparted in a range of 70% or more of the longitudinal direction length Lof the overlapping part 9, and is imparted in a range of 10% or more of the width direction length Wof the overlapping part 9. In the longitudinal direction range with the embossment 10 of the overlapping part 9 imparted thereto, adhesives for joining the encapsulation sheets 5, 5 are not applied. |
