PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a limp-home operation of an audio video bridging network.SOLUTION: A plurality of electric modules in a vehicle communicate over an Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) network 62. The modules normally cooperate to send and receive streams of data with a specific quality of service as AVB streams. When conditions are present in which an AVB-quality stream cannot be sent over the network, the modules communicate with certain specific limp-home functionality. Sending modules (a talker 316) send streams of data without a stream reservation as multicast messages. Receiving modules (a listener 308) receive the multicast messages. Network bridge modules (a bridge 300) enable a Talker Pruning feature to facilitate handling of the multicast messages. |
