The present invention relates to a device and a method for tracking the position of a pedestrian being indoors. According to the present invention, the device for tracking the position of a pedestrian being indoors includes: an inertia sensor unit detecting and providing movement-related data and direction-related data; a possession method detection unit detecting a possession method by using movement-related data provided in the inertia sensor unit; a walking movement detection unit detecting a step of a walking movement by using the movement-related data provided in the inertia sensor unit according to the possession method detected in the possession method detection unit; a walking direction detection unit detecting a walking direction on a step of the walking movement by using the direction-related data provided in the inertia sensor unit when a step of the walking movement is detected in the walking movement detection unit; and a position detection unit tracking and providing the current position on an indoor map of a building by using the walking direction detected in the walking direction detection unit and a step of the walking movement detected in the movement detection unit. Therefore, the device for tracking the position of a pedestrian being indoors can accurately track a position of walking indoors. |
