An apparatus for recording events of a starter motor comprises: a signal receiving unit which receives signals related to the operation of a starter motor; an event determining unit which determines whether the signals correspond to event conditions which can indicate the cause of failure of the starter motor by analyzing the received signals; and a data storing unit which stores event data corresponding to the event conditions.
