PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of extracting data from packets, and an apparatus thereof.SOLUTION: A method of implementing a parser engine comprises: identifying protocol layers in a packet; expanding each of the protocol layers to a generic format on the basis of a result of the identification of that protocol layer; and selecting contents from the expanded protocol layers to thereby form a final token.
