摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately reduce occurrence of a display failure due to a reverse tilt domain in association with realization of pseudo high resolution of a display image while realizing the pseudo high resolution of the display image.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises: liquid crystal panels 10R, 10G and 10B; an optical path shift element 100 capable of changing an optical path of light emitted from the liquid crystal panels 10R, 10G and 10B; an image signal processing section 11 generating a first image signal corresponding to a first image in a first period, generating a second image signal corresponding to a second image shifted by n (n is a natural number of 2 and more) pixels in comparison with the first image in a second period on the basis of the image signals and supplying the first image signal and the second image signal to the liquid crystal panels 10R, 10G and 10B; and an optical path shift element drive section 15 driving the optical path shift element 100 and shifting an optical path of light emitted from the optical path shift element 100 in an opposite direction to a shift direction with the optical path in the first period as reference in the second period.
