PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of recording a RAW image easily reproducibly in the case of necessity without a circuit for high-speed development processing, and a control method therefor.SOLUTION: At imaging, first coded image data based on image data, which is obtained through simple development processing of RAW image data, is recorded together with a RAW image. Later, second coded image data based on image data, which is obtained through high-quality development processing of the RAW image data, is generated and recorded. At imaging, the data amount of the second coded image data is estimated, and an area based on the data amount is secured in advance, as an area for recording the second coded image data. Also, residual quantity information representing a recordable number of frames or time is acquired from an idle capacity of a recording medium and a preset fixed quantity. |
