PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep redundancy of communication by a redundant path, and to improve reliability of a transmission network if fault occurs on the redundant path for which a third path and protection is set.SOLUTION: An EMS 1 (path management device) for managing a plurality of transmission paths set for devices a to f, comprises: a path setting unit 11 that sets a 0-system path, 1-system path, and third path by associating them with the devices a to f as a path set for the devices a to f, and registers them to a path management table T; and a protection setting unit 12 for setting protection for two paths among the 0-system path, 1-system path, and third path. In the case of fault occurring on the 0-system path, even if the EMS 1 cannot access a faulty device e on the 0-system path, the protection setting unit 12 forcibly cancels protection set for the 0-system path and 1-system path, and sets protection for the 1-system path and third path. |
