A flow control valve for the synchronous operation of hydraulic equipment divides a flow of hydraulic fluid from an inlet port 4 to two outlet ports 5, and comprises a valve body 1 having a bore Q and an axially slidable valve member B serving upon movement in one direction to increase the flow area to one outlet port and to decrease the flow area to the other outlet port and vice versa, end chambers H being formed in the bore at opposite ends of the valve member, the valve member B being divided into two outer chambers S, R and an intermediate chamber A, the intermediate chamber communicating with the inlet 4 and the outer chambers communicating with outlets 5, narrow passages connecting the outer chambers with the intermediate chamber A and the end chambers H, the valve member being adapted to move axially in the bore in response to a pressure differential between the end chambers H whereby increased resistance to flow out of one outlet port will result in movement of the valve member to increase the flow area to the one outlet port and decrease the flow to the other outlet port. Each of the outlets may be provided with a one-way check valve P and alternatively, with a further oppositely arranged one-way check valve L, whereby the flow control valve can be used to combine the flow of fluid from two sources, the outlet ports serving as inlet ports and the inlet port serving as an outlet port. The volume of end chambers H may be adjusted independently of the valve member B by rotating knobs 3 which displace plungers M.</p> |
