PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OTDM demultiplexing method capable of demultiplexing with a high S/N ratio a Nyquist signal that is time-multiplexed in a state where adjacent channels are overlapped and an OTDM demultiplexing device.SOLUTION: The OTDM demultiplexing method includes: using a Nyquist pulse not only as signal light for high-speed TDM transmission but also as local light; and demultiplexing a desired channel from overlapped TDM signals at a high S/N ratio by carrying out coherent detection thereof.
