PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent clogging caused by a liquid adhering to a waste liquid discharge path and reduce clogging caused by moisture evaporation from a nozzle which results from capping.SOLUTION: An image formation device includes: a liquid discharge head 400 which discharges droplets; a suction cap 82 which performs capping on a discharge surface 400n of the liquid discharge head 400; a discharge path 84 connected with the suction cap 82; a suction pump 85 provided at the discharge path; liquid introduction means 301 which introduces a cleaning fluid 303 into the suction cap 82; and a cleaning fluid tank 304 which stores the cleaning fluid 303. When the suction cap 82 is separated from the discharge surface 400n, the suction cap 82 and the liquid introduction means 301 are relatively moved to face each other. Then, the cleaning fluid 303 is introduced from the liquid introduction means 301 into the suction cap 82 and the introduced cleaning fluid 303 is discharged through the discharge path 84 by the suction pump 85. |
